Session Abstract: | As customers evolve their data centers to virtualized environments to reduce costs and gain efficiencies, the need for effective management of the IT environment becomes critical. John Kogel will discuss IBM's Service Management capabilities and how they help organizations better manage their virtualized IT infrastructure to more effectively and efficiently deliver IT services. John will also discuss the impact virtualization is having on the evolution of the data center, the customer benefits of this evolution, and how leveraging an integrated Service Management approach to simplify administration and automate management of resources is key to success. A demo will show how integrated management of a virtualized environment can reduce power costs and reduce the need for additional hardware. In addition, the benefits of cloud computing and the management of the underlying virtualized environment will be covered. |
