Session Abstract:

ESX Server 3.5 includes support for operating systems that use Virtual Machine Interface (VMI). VMI is an open paravirtualization interface standard developed by VMware in collaboration with the Linux community and supported in Linux mainline kernel versions 2.6.22 and above. This talk will cover the technical details of VMI design with an explanation of the performance improvements it provides for various Linux workloads.
