VMWorld Party on Wednesday - Who's the artist?

While I'm for sure looking forward to all of the great technical discussion and sessions, I'm also looking forward to the VMWorld party event on Wednesday.  Does anyone know who will be the artist?  Last year was Foreigner and it was an excellent show.

Regards,

Ryan

Re: VMWorld Party on Wednesday - Who's the artist?

Wow, I'm a little surprised this thread hasn't taken off - IIRC the speculation threads were quite popular in years past!

I really enjoyed the party last year with Foreigner and Smash Mouth was really cool in 2007.  I guess it's not a requirement that this years event will be along the same lines as years past (party at a certain location with food, drinks, and a musical artist), but I'm hoping this is the case.  I didn't attend VMworld in 2008 (Vegas) - wasn't that party at the speedway?  I'm sure there was food and drink, but was there also a band?

I'm sure some would disagree, but I thought having the party at Moscone worked out great last year - no need to travel on buses to get to the destination - just a short walk for most from the surrounding hotels.  Food, drink, and entertainment were great.

If there is a musical artist again this year, the possibilities of who it might be are endless - the VMworld staff dropped some clues for us last year, so maybe they'll do the same this year.

At any rate, I'm looking forward to it all!  I wasn't planning to attend this year, but we've got a few virtualization projects coming up and I've got a little homework I need to be doing at the conference, so I registered last week.

I have to say, having it at the Moscone really annoyed me.  You're at the Moscone for 4 solid days anyway, and the Moscone kicks everyone out at 10pm sharp.   The island was a much better venue.  There was more space overall, more themed entertainment areas, and didn't end so abruptly.
